The newly incorporated Company sited in the historical centre of Istanbul in an area traditionally belonged to Shipping Agents, sees its birth as a necessity to fulfill the mission of the Group that is to develop globally according to the businesses of the London Metal Exchange and to cover an adequate geographical area in order to satisfy those Clients operating in the ferrous and non-ferrous metal sector.
In 2008 the London Metal Exchange started a new "future" contract referred to Steel billets, divided into two macro geographical areas, the Mediterranean and the Far East. The port range for the Mediterranean Contract is presently the Turkish one, therefore our decision of opening our Agency locally.
The consistent presence of Turkish steel mills in this sector, their export volumes and the strategic position of the Turkish harbors in the Marmara Sea in respect of the traffics transiting the Black Sea, are prospecting a successful iniviative in the short term.
